I was at the Walker Sculpture Garden today in Minneapolis. I was laying on the grass right next to the giant spoon and cheery (not unlike what JD is doing in my icon) and I just let my mind wander.

I starting writing whatever I was hearing or seeing at the time.

People were mingling around the pond/spoon/cherry thing, and I wondered about their lives and how they got there on that day and I started making up stories about them.

I might post something about it some other time. Then again, I may never come back to it again.

And I'm ok with that.

I had been trying for awhile to write a poem for April Poetry month, but as I've never been very good at poetry, it wasn't going well. But I have this, and after all, bad poetry is still poetry.

Lying on my back, the water rescinds beside me
The steady beat of my heart keeps me anchored
And the low shifting of the water is deafening to my ears
My eyes grow heavy and I close them, willing for silence
The water continues its quest and I am denied

The cool air kisses my skin and I shiver
The water is nearly gone now
I am left alone and bereft

I have something to report.

I don't know what happened but yesterday, I was somehow inspired to write something from my novel. It wasn't a lot, but when I go back and look over it, I can expand on it. It was basically the prologue introducing the characters.

I do have a scene in mind for later in the book which I might write down later... might being the key word. ^_^

But I am doing something!

Haha, yeah, so...

Instead of working on my novels, I've mostly been interested in writing my own Book of Shadows. I have the one my friends and I started about five or so years ago. I'm picking that apart and rewriting some things and adding some others to make is completely my own. It will also have a different kind of format and placed in different books.

Example: The BOS used to be one huge three ring binder. Mine is many (well, one so far...) different books. The first has the Wiccan Rede, my own personal history, and the cliff note version of the history of witchcraft and Wicca.

So! It may not be what I originally intended to do. Afterall, I've no desire to publish anything I write in my BOS, but it's give me a nice accomplished feeling when I finish a page.

I went to my school's library today and checked out a book for the first part of my series. I've already got many ideas going through my brain and written down on paper.

I'm very excited!

I had an interesting Anthropology class today. We spoke about the hero's cycle and it made a helluva lot of sense. The hero's cycle is an everthing. So I decided not to do it with my book.

The Hero's Cycle

1. Arrival of someone/event that threatens the hero's world
2. Deniel
3. Acceptence
4. Departure
5. Events that shape hero
6. Encounter with Evil
7. Events that shape hero
8. Hero triumphs and is recognized as a hero
9. Hero returns to his world
10. Hero gives a gift to his world and all is right again

This cycle is in everything that I have ever read. And it's a good cycle and a good plot. But there's gotta be something different than this. So I'm gonna write it.

I've decided to post about each of my stories telling what they are about. SO!

Souls of the Night

Been in the works for awhile now. With me being obsessed with vampires, why not write about one? It's about a vampire named Daemon who goes through life seeking redemption (Cliche, I know). He did something terrile when he was on his first Hunt, and he vowed to never harm an innocent again. But in modern day New York, he meets a woman who leads him into temptation, however unknowingly. What follows is a silent war of vampire Clans with Daemon trying to stop them while trying not to destroy everything he's worked for for hundreds of years.

Mortua Dea - Working Title

This is a little new in my life. I've been working off and on on it for a few months now. It's probably become my favorite. It opens in present day, when the main character wakes from a very long sleep. The men who found her and woke her, beg for her to tell her tale and she does so. She takes them back to the beginning when the world and life was new. She tells them of how primitive humans whould worship them as though they were gods (Greek Gods, Roman Gods...) But beings gods were not enough for one man. He wanted to be human and he wanted to be powerful. He took the shape of a human man and rose to become master of Rome, Julius Ceaser. The main character is appalled by his behaviour and also takes on human form as Cleopatra to counter Ceaser. And so the playfull war begins. Both go through history, becoming new people each time (even Jesus Christ).

This is my take on ancient times, religion, and human nature. It will already be a long series and when she's done telling her history, I doubt it will be the end. Her adversary is still out there, waiting.

Harry Potter Fanfics

Fates Entwined- Co-written with Whitney (aka TanisaFyre on fanfiction.net, aka tanisafyre on livejournal). It's been a couple years, but I swear we will finish it! Harry/Draco slash with more twists and turns unimaginal that I can't say anything that won't give something away.
Those In Hell- Harry's trapped in the underworld and everyone is fighting to get him back... or at least his soul... Hiatus. I've decided to wait until the sixth book comes out and then start writing this again with many many changes.

I didn't care for him. He was a bastard. He treated my cousin appalingly.

I feel such a horrible person when I say this, but I believe my cousin and her children are better off.

My only regret is that their seven year old daughter found him.

Yesterday, I had my job interview for The Summit. Or, at least, what I thought would be an interview. The person who usually does the interviewing was far too busy to see me during the appointment they made. So one of the workers (Stephanie) came and just showed me around the place and said they'd call me in a week.

-__-

The hell.

And apparantly, I didn't "smile enough" or "ask questions". Pardon me, but I asked questions when I didn't understand something. And also, that job is the exact same one I have now. Why would I have questions about something I've been doing for over a year?

And what was up with that smiling ussue? I distinctly remember making fun of The Colony (The Summit's rivel/where I work now) and laughing at it.

This whole thing has just been irratating the hell out of me all day. And I'm not so sure I want to work there anymore.

So...

A plague upon their houses.

Since the beginnings of last year, I have been secretly terrified.

I put off doing my ACTs...

I put off looking at colleges...

I never thought of the future...

All for the simple fact is that I'm not ready and I'm so damned scared. But the point is, I'm never going to be ready.

I'm never going to be ready to leave this school. Never ready to say goodbye to this town. Never ready to say goodbye to friends and family.

And I'm never going to stop being scared. The future is so vast and frightening and it's coming on too bloody fast. I just wish I could say, "Stop! I not done being a kid yet!"

But we all must grow up someday. Today I took the first steps. I'm actually starting to plan what it is that I'm going to do after Graduation. I looked at colleges, I'm taking my ACTs in October, and you know what?

I'm looking forward to it.

Probably the shelf had too much pressure on it. However, it could also be because of the short screws in one side and the long screws in the other. Fear not, it shall be fixed! I'm just glad it was the shelf that didn't have all the breakable things on it... or under it. My shoes have seen better days, though...))

Success, my friends. I have now finally convinced my mortal family to take me to the grueling tast that is school shopping (School is something all mortals must go through, personally, I do not see why there is such a thing when the children themselves hardly pay any attention). I did not want to do, you understand. Shopping, I beilive, is the thing of the Devil... if there was a Devil, anyway.

But, I confess, it needed to be done.

Alas, I must go to work.
